In myasthenia gravis, the immune system produces antibodies that block or destroy the acetylcholine receptors on muscle cells, preventing proper muscle activation. Detecting AChR binding antibodies in the blood helps confirm the diagnosis and guides treatment decisions.

Positive Result:
A positive test means AChR binding antibodies are present, supporting a diagnosis of autoimmune myasthenia gravis. Most individuals with generalized MG will test positive. This finding helps confirm that symptoms are due to an autoimmune attack on acetylcholine receptors.
Negative Result:
A negative result means that AChR binding antibodies were not detected, but this does not fully rule out myasthenia gravis. Some people with MG may have other types of antibodies, such as MuSK or LRP4 antibodies, or may test negative altogether (seronegative MG). Additional testing may be necessary.

Yes, you can! We highly recommend activating Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your account. To do so, please navigate to the "Profile and Security" section of your account, where you will find instructions for activating 2FA.
